Dragons represent the primary characteristic of Dragon Mania Legends and the very foundation of this game. Just about all Dragons have the ability to breed with one another to generate more Dragons, battle against other Dragons, or even create Gold.
Dragons hatch out of eggs and then transition out of their infant stage to their adult phase upon being fed. Feeding is the only way to strengthen and develop a Dragon. Dragons don't age past their mature form, only grow up to a maximum degree through feeding, so Dragons are immortal. At Level 4, the young Dragon supposes its adult form and can then breed, train, enhance its abilities in the Dragon Academy and take part in a variety of conflicts in the game.
The only way for gamers to eliminate their own Dragons would be to sell them. Chronos and Clan Dragons are the sole unsellable Dragons in the game.
There are lots of ways to obtain Dragons. The most common method is to breed them at the Breeding Den, the only area where they can be bred, or even purchase them from the numerous stores in the game, like the Main Shop or Dungeon Shop, through a particular currency. There are many Base Dragons in the game, each embodying a different Element, which is bought with Gold in the Main Shop when the user reaches a certain degree, being the only ones which may be bought in exchange for this money. Some Dragons in the game can only be redeemed or purchased during a limited-time period. However, there are quite a few other Dragons which can't be bred whatsoever. Clan Dragons and Boss Dragons are these Dragons, with the former being accessible only through Clan-related actions while the latter are available only through buying in exchange for Stone after several conditions are met. Additionally, there are Dragons which are accessed through competing in the many events which happen in the sport, either against other players or against the game itself, or as part of a Clan completing a variety of quests or competing against other Clans.
With the exception of Chronos, Clan Dragons and Boss Dragons, players can have several of the very same species of Dragons. But most Dragons that are accessed via a method besides purchasing or breeding, can't, usually, be bought as duplicates until they are in the ownership of the participant and are present in their islands. Normally-Breedable Dragons and Dungeon Dragons, so long as they're unlocked, Boss Dragons, so long as they're defeated at least once in Normal Mode, Dragons which are currently time-limited breedable, and Dragons which are currently part of a promotion in the Main Shop can always be bought without prior existence on the islands. Dragons which may be bought as duplicates will ordinarily be purchasable in exchange for Gems. Base Dragons are constantly purchasable in exchange for Gold while Dungeon Dragons are constantly purchasable in exchange for Dungeon Tokens. There's absolutely not any limit to how many Dragons of the very same species a participant can obtain through breeding, provided that that specific Dragon is now breedable. Furthermore, Card Dragons, a sort of Dragons which are accessed only in exchange for fitting Dragon Pieces, may also be accessed as duplicates as there's absolutely no limit to how many fitting Pieces a participant can have for some of these Dragons.
Dragons acquired through Enchanted Breeding and those acquired through Heroic Mode are unbuyable, even if they're found on the participant's islands. Since the latter can only be accessed after, it means that there's now no possibility to get them as duplicates. Chronos can be unbuyable and may only be accessed once by discovering a variety of shards of Chronosian Seals while exploring ruins.
Since for some Dragons their presence on the islands is required in order to become purchasable as copies, those who were obtained via a method besides purchasing or breeding will, probably, never be accessible again if they're sold.
Almost all Dragons in the game have certain characteristics called Elements and rarity which then determine their breeding and hatching time, in addition to battle and Gold-producing attributes called stats. These stats grow whenever the Dragon increases in degree.
All Dragons in the game, along with their own species name or simply their name, have given titles. These provided names are randomly assigned to Dragons upon being hatched, but the player can decide to rename their Dragon and give them another title that's limited to six figures.
